Luciano Bellini
About the composer
Luciano Bellini was born in Rome, Italy, in 1952. He studied piano, composition and conducing at the Conservatorio di Musica Santa Cecilia in Rome.
Bellini is deeply interested politically and in subjects like anthropology and non verbal communication, which resulted in a book about the relations between imagination, the unconscious, music and folklore. In 1980 he became conductor of the chamber orchestra Nova Philharmonia and the choir Arcum. He is very interested in modern music and was conductor in more than 150 first performances.

| Particulars: | There is no clear division in sections. The choir has only a small part in the third stanza. The soprano recites part of the text, especially the first stanza, while the singing is rather avant garde. |
| Textual variations: | Of the Latin text the first stanza is recited twice, and then it is sung. The soprano is accompanied by the choir in the third stanza. The text of the poem is followed until the tenth stanza, though with the exception of the sixth stanza, and then closes with the final "Amen". |
