Particulars: | The Stabat Mater consists of three main parts: an instrumental Introduction (largo, adagio, allegro and largo) and Final (allegro, vivace, allegro, adagio), played by cello and flute, and a middle piece, where the text is sung by the soprano, accompanied by cello and hobo (adagio). Generally, the composition has an atmosphere of loneliness and sorrow, especially by the important part the cello plays. |
