Ivan Parik
About the composer
Ivan Parík was born in 1936 in Slovakia. He studied conducting and composition at the Bratislava conservatorium, then worked some years at the Czechoslovakian television. In 1990, after some 20 years of teaching at the university for musical art he became professor . Ivan Parík is regarded is a master of the miniature and the fragment, with an inclination to detail and intimacy. He wrote music for some movies, orchestral and choral works and chambermusic.

Textual variations: | The "Vatican"-version of the text is used, but only the stanzas 9 (first aria), and 4 and 5 (second aria). At the end of stanza 9 the exlamation "Sancta Maria" is added. |
