Francis Bebey
About the composer
Francis Bebey was born in 1929 in Cameroon. A many talented man, he sings, plays guitar and several African instruments, but is also a writer and poet (in 1994 he won the Prix Saint Exupéry for a book) and a composer. For the internationally known Kronos quartet he composed a piece for string quartet and pygmy flute.
Bebey died in Paris, France, on 28 May 2001.
