David Haladjian
About the composer
David Haladjian is a composer from Armenia, born in 1962. He studied composition at the Komitas Conservatory in Yerevan. His output includes symphonic works, chamber music, choral compositions and film music. Haladjians vocal and choral works are often based on folk materials and on modern Armenian poetic texts. At present, he works as a composer, conductor and music teacher.

Particulars: | The piece has four movements. This Stabat mater is a requiem for the victims of the earthquake which struck Armenia in December 1988. The work was composed for the Yerevan Women's Choir and was first performed in January 1990 in Leninakan, now Gumayri. On the website of the composer you will find a list of his compositions.
