Andrea Luchesi
About the composer
Andrea Luca Luchesi (1741 – 1801) was born in Motta di Livenza, Italy. For some years he lived in Venice. In 1771 he moved to Bonn and in 1774 he was appointed Kapellmeister of the orchestra. As such he was maestro to the young Ludwig van Beethoven. Luchesi seems to have been a fertile composer, but most of his works have been lost or were attributed to other composers. His Stabat Mater was composed for a Monastery in Venice.
