Michele Bocchini

About the composer

Michele Bocchini  was born 1983 in Senigallia (Ancona, Italy). He started studying the piano at the age of seven and graduated in organ and organ composition (2011) and lyrical singing (2016) at the Gioachino Rossini’s Conservatory of Pesaro. He also studied choral conducting and attended masterclasses with the greatest conductors at prestigious institutions, including the Chigiana Music Academy.
He was a winner in the Christmas Music Composition Competition and finished third in the 8th Mario Nascimbene International Music Competition for Film. In 2009, he joined the choir staff of the Teatro della Fortuna M. Agostini in Fano and collaborated in operatic and concert productions. In 2011, he became a member of the Italian Youth Choir with which he sang throughout Italy until 2014, winning prizes such as at the Florilege Vocal de Tours (France) and sang together with The Rolling Stones at the Circo Massimo in Rome. Since 2016, he has been singing in the choir of the Cathedral of Siena Guido Chigi Saracini and in the ensemble UT Vocal Ensemble of Lorenzo Donati that won the European Grand Prix in 2016 for choral singing. Since 2013 he is the artistic director of the choir association G. Ferretti which, from 2016, invites highly experienced teachers to choir music – weekends. From 2011 to 2016 he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Regional Association of Marche Choirs and from 2016 to 2018 he was Chairman of the Artistic Commission.
