Paul Carr
About the composer
Paul Carr was born in Cornwall (1961). He has been writing music since the age of 15 receiving his first offer of publication for his Dance Pieces for clarinet and piano when only 19. From 1984 to 1998 his main career was in opera stage management and he worked with some of the world’s leading companies including English National Opera, The Australian Opera, The New Israeli Opera, Glyndebourne Festival Opera and Garsington Opera. In 2004 he retired from stage management, moving to Mallorca to concentrate fully on composition as well as developing his interest in abstract painting.

Particulars: | Paul Carr was commissioned by the English Arts Chorale in 2017 to write the Stabat Mater which received its World Premiere on this CD. Paul Carr has divided his Stabat Mater in six movements. He gave them English titles: |
