György Orbán
About the composer
György Orbán was born in 1947 in Rumania though his parents were Hungarian. In 1979 he went to Hungary, where he still lives, working as a music editor for Editio Music, and teaching at the Ferenc Liszt Academy for Music in Budapest. He composed more than a hundred works, sacred choral works with and without orchestra, orchestral works and chamber music. He wrote two Stabat Mater compositions for mixed choir a cappella, one in 1987 (in A) and the one described here (in F).
