In March 2022, the Ultimate Stabat Mater Website Foundation unveiled ‘Stabat Mater Dolorosa – a journey through seven ages of music,’ a book written in Dutch. This book narrates the inception of our Ultimate Stabat Mater Website, which originated from Hans van der Veldens personal passion in 1997. Over 25 years, our platform has evolved into an international hub for composers, musicians, and Stabat Mater enthusiasts.

Our website offers an immersive experience, spanning seven centuries of Stabat Mater music. Visitors can explore the Latin poem translated into over 25 languages and stay updated on news about composers and artists inspired by the Stabat Mater.

Looking ahead, our goal is to publish an English-language version of the book next year. The translation of the text has been finished. We are currently seeking professional and non professional proofreaders, native speakers, passionate about Stabat Mater themes. To accomplish an international version of ‘Stabat Mater Dolorosa’ we’ve initiated a crowdfunding campaign on GoFundMe. Donations received will enable the publishing of an English version and facilitate the global distribution of the book.
