About the Stabat Mater
Soprano, Alto, Baritone and orchestra
The composition, an "Oratorio for choir, soloists and orchestra", is divided into twelve parts. It is modern music, but contains fine melodies and a small fugue. In the last part the music refers to Gregorian plain chant.
The text used is not the Latin text, but a 19th century Breton translation from a missal used in a Brittany diocese.

The CD is probably a private enterprise by the ensemble itself, though it is for sale. As all texts are in Breton, maybe it is also meant to keep alive the Breton language. It was recorded in La Chapelle de la Communaute des Ursulines, Morlaix, Brittany, France, in April 1997.
