About the Stabat Mater
Mixed Choir (version 2), String Quartet (version 3)
The Stabat Mater is Thilloy's opus 95. In fact it consists of several versions. Nr.1 is for four voices (soprano, alto, tenor, baritone) and Nr.3 is for string quartet, in versions with and without a speaker. Version Nr. 2 is the one I recorded, for mixed choir. The work is divided in 7 parts. It is dedicated to the victims of September 11 in New York.
As far as I can hear, the "Vatican"-version of the text is used.
